*Continuing with my craftiness, here is a giant felt broach i made last week. Using some cheap ivory felt i found at A.C.Moore, i cut 5-6 pedals out (i think that 6 pedals looks best), pinched the ends + sewed them together in a circle to create each flower. After making quite a few in different sizes i hand sewed them all together to complete the finished look. The broach is pretty freaking big and looks best on something bulky like my wool winter coat (yes i realize its spring.) i intend on making smaller ones next for a more appropriate spring/summer time broach ^_^.
When I first learned to talk, I told my mom that I hated coloring books and I wanted a blank piece of paper to make my own lines. After graduating from high school I moved down to Philadelphia, PA where I attended, and recently graduated from, the University of the Arts, with a BFA in Illustration. Since then I find myself trying my very best to live out the life of an artist, having my work shown in various galleries around the country, including; The Society of Illustrators (NYC), Jinxed gallery (Philadelphia, PA), The Compound gallery (Portland, OR), Gallery1988 SF (San Francisco, CA) The Suite 100 Gallery (Seattle, WA) Think Space Gallery and Gallery1988 LA (Los Angeles, CA) etc. Though I call myself an illustrator + designer, I really just like to make things + I find my mediums constantly changing. I find the greatest inspiration in the passionate people that surround me and in lingering childhood memories.
